The Port Elizabeth Rotract Club, in association with the Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth and various Interact Clubs, is once again hosting Uncle Jumbo’s Christmas Party, between 3 and 13 December 2015. The fun-filled show is aimed at children between the ages of 2 and 10 years, along with their parents. The programme runs every evening over the two-week period, once a year, and includes games, skits, snacks and lots of surprises. Uncle Jumbo’s is an outside farm-style picnic event. Refreshments are on sale, and the proceeds go towards charity.

“The scene is set in front of a castle, which is on Uncle Jumbo’s farm,” says one of the organisers. “Uncle Jumbo comes out and welcomes the kids. We play a few games and sing a few songs.” This year’s event includes a marching band and the children got to march around the imaginary farm. Additional characters were The Fairy God Mother, Winnie The Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan, Big Ears, Noddy, Captain Hook, Mr. Plodd, Blue Suit and more.
