Family Fun at Fairview Racecourse
It is winter in the Bay, the sun is out but the water is cold. Why not head to Fairview Racecourse for some family fun?
A Fun Family Day at the Races
Fairview Racecourse is the only horse racing track in Port Elizabeth and it appeals to young and old with all the family activities, entertainment, incredible fashion, the chance to win, a variety of food stalls and horse racing. Whether you need a break in the middle of the week or over the weekend, Fairview Racecourse situated in Greenbushes, is ready to welcome you with open arms.
All About the Muscles
At Fairview Racecourse it is the horses who are the kings and queens of the track’s jungle and it is difficult not to marvel and watch in awe how the majestic muscular four-legged creatures parade in front of your eyes. No wonder it is called the Sport of Kings.
A Flair of Fashion
While Port Elizabeth is not Durban, and a day at the races is not necessarily the Durban July, don’t let it stop you to go all out, put on a hat and be a true fashionista!
A Bet of Fun
Horse racing is popular among South Africans due to the country’s excellent weather, talented jockeys and powerful horses.
They say “racing, it’s a rush” and if you want to experience it you have to live it. And what better way to experience it than to place a bet? Fairview Racecourse offers everyone (over 18) a chance to try their hand at placing a bet and with the race program’s insightful information of every horse it can’t get easier.
A Few Betting Tips from Racing, It’s a Rush
- You can Bet To Win, which means you place your money on the horse that you believe will be first past the post.
- Betting Each Way means you are putting money on a horse to win and also to place in the first three (sometimes you can bet on a horse placing in the first two or four).
- A Swinger Bet is a good choice for a newcomer as you simply pick two horses that you think will place in the first three.
