The Color Run PE 2016 - The Rainbow Tour

This was the fourth time The Color Run came to PE and folks from all around Nelson Mandela Bay and the Eastern Cape came out to join in the Happiest 5k on the planet.

 

 

2016 introduced The Rainbow Tour – if you wanted to experience the joys of rainbows in your life, this was an event not to be missed.

 

 

The Color Run promotes four key principles: happiness; healthiness; giving back to the community; and individuality.

 

 

Happiness: no need to describe this – just look at the images of participants and you will see the joy on their faces. It’s called “The Happiest 5k on the Planet” after all.

Healthiness: exercise can, and should be fun. The Color Run is about good, not-so-clean fun, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. It’s an event that is perfect for the whole family. And for many, in fact most, of the participants, this is their first 5km event.

 

 

Giving back: The Color Run allows you to raise funds for your favourite charity by requesting a “Fun Raiser” code from the organisers. The Color Run will donate money to your selected charity when anyone buys their ticket with your charity’s unique promo code. And, through Capitec Bank’s generosity, R10 is donated to a needy school in the community for every regular ticket sold.

Individuality: Get fun. Get creative. Express yourself. Fairy wings? Crazy wigs? Zany socks? 

 

 

It was he first year the event took place from the Boardwalk Festival lawns which alloed for great activities and entertainment before and after the event.

 

 

Absolutely –anyone can particpate in the event whenther you walk at your own pace if you’d like to hopor skip. The race is about having fun, and being together. It’s not competitive.

We have babies in prams too!
