Hop On Beer Tour Brewing In The Bay

 

The Hop on Beer Tour is a guided tour of 3 micro breweries in Nelson Mandela Bay and is offered by Gecko Tours. The tour will immerse the visitor into the unique culture of a beer enthusiast. Throughout the tour you will introduce your taste buds to carefully crafted beers of unique flavours.

 

 

Three popular venues are included, namely the Beer Yard, Dockside Brewery and the Bridge Street Brewery. The Beer Yard is the first stop on the tour where you are introduced to four craft beers and interesting stories about the beer names and origin from well informed staff. This local pub in Richmond Hill is popular and fun while offering a good mix of fine malts and hops in several carefully crafted brews.

 

 

Dockside Brewery is the second stop where one gets to meet the Brew Master and discuss views and the manufacturing process. This is followed by a taste session of four different beers and enjoying some special baked Beer Bread. Dockside Brewery is a true artisan brewery located in the lower Baakens Valley, producing extraordinary beers on a very small scale for a very small, exclusive and extraordinary niche market.

 

 

Bridge Street Brewery is the third and final stop and here you meet the Brew Master, view and discuss the manufacturing process and recipes, ingredients used and enjoy tasting three Beers and a Cider. This micro-brewery is a fine place to sample and sip a bitter, a pilsner, a stout and a cider. The last stop here also includes a pizza of your choice making the tour a well rounded off and value for money experience.
